Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey (SVDLS)

Every year, the Scottish Government collect data on vacant and derelict land and they have done this since 1988.

Each council does the survey and the data they collect is sent back to the Scottish Government who clean the data and produce the statistics.

The Scottish Government use the statistics to produce a register of urban vacant and derelict sites which anybody can access to find out the details of any of the sites in their area.  The register is available as an Excel file or as a map.
